Ferris University and UP CIS profs visit PAJ

Professor Chiho Ogaya of Ferris University (FU) in Yokohama, Japan paid a courtesy visit on Febꦆ 1 to UP President Angelo A. Jimenez at Quezon Hall, where they discussed current and possible initiatives between the two academic institutions, such as: an ongoing exchange program, a prospective international conference on migrant workers, a reunion of Japanese-speaking UP scholars, and the renovation of the CIS facilities in Benton Hall. 

ꦺOgaya was accompanied by several UP Diliman Center for International Studies (CIS) faculty members: Prof. Cynthia N. Zayas, former director of the UP CIS, and Prꦡof. Amparo Adelina C. Umali, III, UP CIS Coordinator for East and Southeast Asian Studies.

With Jimenez were Dr. Leo D.P. Cubillan, UP Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Prof. Noel A. Moratilla, Deputy Director of the UP ꦦOffice of International Linkages. 

Ogaya, a sociology professor, is an active international partner of the UP CIS. She continues to share her knowledge about migrant women and their families, migrant domestic workers in the Asian region, and issues on gender, nuclear power, and US bases, among a variety of topics, through collaborative academic activities and teaching in UP CIS c🥂ourses.
